The Grooming Gallery - Professional Pet Grooming in North Dakota

Picture
Hi there! My name is Sarah and I am the Owner/Groomer of The Grooming Gallery in Dickinson, ND. I am an avid animals lover and have experience in training, handling and pampering them all, from big to small! I attended school at Bismarck State College for Commercial Arts after graduating high school and also worked as a brusher and bather at In-Dog-Neat-O in Bismarck while attending college, which is where I decided I wanted to take my career to the dogs. I attended the Nevada School of Dog Grooming in Las Vegas, NV, and am a certified groomer with 360 hours of training. (see diploma below). As an artist and photographer, I strive to bring my artistic talents into my grooming as well.

The Grooming Gallery opened in 1998...we just celebrated 13 great years in business this year!

Many time during the business hours of The Grooming Gallery, customers who call in about scheduling appointments will get an answering machine. I am deaf and can not talk on the phone to my clients. There are certain hours when there will be someone in the shop to take calls, but at times when there is no one else there the machine is available for clients to leave messages on. Someone WILL get back to you soon to answer questions and make appointments. Please be patient and wait for our call back. Thank you for understanding! Check out the Contact Us page for other methods of contacting me.

I am a skilled lip-reader and must see people's faces in order to understand them correctly. Many people have not had experience talking with a hearing impaired individual. Please understand that if I do not answer you correctly or even not at all, I is not being rude or ignorant, but simply have not heard you correctly. To avoid any misunderstandings, please make sure you look at me when speaking to me, and to not over-enunciate or shout...this only makes lip-reading more difficult. If in doubt, feel free to write down any questions or demands on paper before coming in...then there will be no doubt that I will understand you, and I appreciate the effort on your part to make sure things are clear! :-)

I am committed to providing the best of care for your pets and want The Grooming Gallery to be your pet's home away from home. I will stop at nothing to ensure their comfort...and your peace of mind! Please email or call with any concerns or questions...I will be happy to answer them for you.

Meet My Pets!

Bella

Picture
Bella is my 7 year old merle Great Dane.  She is a total troublemaker, but you gotta love her. She is too smart for her own good and can open any drawer or door you can imagine, child-proof locks be darned!  She's cleaned my fridge out for me many a time, and likes to sit on people's laps when they use my bathroom.  What would I do without my Bella Boo??

Bella was the result of a back yard breeding. Her mom, Emma, came to me as a very malnourished and very pregnant girl that was way too young to be having babies. She had 6 puppies, all of which I found homes for, including Bella...with me!

Emma died in July of 2007. She is very greatly missed.

Wyatt Earp

Picture
Meet Wyatt Earp!  Wyatt is a 5 year old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. He is also my hearing assistance dog and goes with me most everywhere I go. He is trained to alert me to sirens, horns and alarms, as well as simply letting people know I am deaf by his orange vest and patches identifying him as a hearing assistance dog and canine good citizen.

He is also a goofball. Being a herding breed, he thinks anything fluffy is in fact, a sheep, and lets me know this by joyfully barking at them.   Dogs will be dogs, even assistance dogs!

Doc Holliday

Picture
Meet Doc!  I groomed Doc for many years before his owner had to find him a new home.  He was always one of my favourites, so I was thrilled to have the chance to adopt him.  He is a 4 year ld Pembroke Welsh Corgi.

Doc is perpetually happy. Always smiling, always happy, always bouncing. He loves to chase balls and eat socks.  He is my cuddler...Bella and Wyatt are not much for cuddling, when they are sleeping, they want to sleep. Doc will curl up with me for hours and let me pet him...he's a lover.

Annie Oakley

Picture
Meet Annie Oakley!  Annie was a foster that went through a few homes and kept bouncing back to me through no fault of her own. I was tired of seeing her get bounced around so much, so I decided to adopt her once and for all as my own. She has a weight problem and thyroid problem which we are working on getting under control. She is also a Pembroke Welsh Corgi! Any guesses on my favourite breed? ;)

Dougie

Picture
Dougie, Dougie, Dougie.  Dougie is my 13 year old female cat. When I got her, for whatever reason, I thought she was a boy, thus her name!

Dougie lives at the shop, and is the shop greeter.  Or shop annoyer...if there is such a thing.  Dougie used to be a pretty standoffish cat for much of her life. She liked me, but didn't much care for being pet or handled.  About a year ago she suddenly became Miss Happy, and now will annoy you to death until you pet her. I think she lost her mind.  She will very likely greet you and your dog in the shop, and if you happen to be allergic to cats, she seems to have a magnetic attraction to people that are allergic.  Just shooo her away!

Gallery Geckos

Picture
Geckos Galore! I breed and sell Crested and Gargoyle geckos, and have many of my own for breeders and pets!  I would name them all here, but you would think I was crazy.  Check them out at my website, www.gallerygeckos.com.

Da Fishies and Da Froggies

Picture
I love fish, reptiles and frogs.  Every single fish I own has a name, and I remember them all. I'm a dork.

I have 8 fish tanks total, ranging from 5 gallons to 125 gallons, including one saltwater reef. I very much enjoy taking care of my fish and spend many hours at home maintaining tanks.

I also have a Chorus Frog named Lyric, a Leopard Frog named Quire, and two Fire Belly Toads named Juice and Bamboo.
